On the Sunday after the Feast of the Exaltation of the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross, His Grace Bishop Nektarije of London and Great Britain and Ireland served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Church of St Sava in Ealing. He was concelebrated by Fr Zlatko Milovanović, the parish priest, and assisted by subdeacons Siniša Macakanja and Simon Tingley.
After the dismissal, the Bishop addressed the faithful with a sermon on the significance of the Honorable Cross in the life of a Christian, reminding them that each of us is called to bear our own cross in life with faith, patience and trust in God’s help.
Referring to the recent events concerning the Cathedral Church of St Sava in London, which have caused concern and uncertainty among the faithful, the Bishop called for prayer, forgiveness and the preservation of unity within the Church community.
The Bishop stressed that in these circumstances we must pray for one another and for all those involved in the current situation, asking that the Lord enlighten us all and strengthen us in mutual love. He urged the faithful to keep peace in their hearts and, through common prayer, to help overcome misunderstandings and preserve the unity of our Church in London.
