Concelebrating with His Grace the Bishop was the new parish priest for the Republic of Ireland, the Reverend Protopresbyter Aleksandar Vujko.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Grace addressed the gathered faithful, preaching on the Gospel parable of the royal wedding feast. The Bishop pointed out the importance of recognizing God’s call and our response to it, reminding that a Christian, despite all life’s obligations and worldly cares, should always put God and the salvation of their soul first.
After the Prayer behind the Ambo, a Moleben (prayer service) was served for all children on the occasion of the start of the new school year. In the prayer, the Lord was called upon to preserve, strengthen, and enlighten our children, to grant them health, wisdom, and progress in their studies, and to guide them on the path of goodness and virtue.
Following the Holy Liturgy, the fellowship continued at the Agape feast, lovingly prepared by hardworking hostesses. In a brotherly and cordial atmosphere, the faithful continued their gathering, while a traditional game of balote (bocce) was organized for the hosts in the church yard.
The joy of the liturgical gathering and fellowship represents another blessed moment in the life of St. George’s Parish in Dublin, which, gathered around its church, its parish priest, and its diocesan bishop, strives to build its church and spiritual life on the foundations of faith, prayer, and mutual love.
