Its activities include concerts, theatre performances, literary evenings, book launches, lectures, film screenings and exhibitions. Serbian language courses for adults and a reading club hold a special place in its work, as do humanitarian campaigns supporting institutions and people in need in Serbia and the wider region.

Gatherings such as this are of particular importance to our people in the diaspora: they nurture ties with the homeland, safeguard cultural memory and offer an opportunity to pass Serbian heritage on to younger generations and share it with the British public. Behind the Society’s three decades of work stand the effort and dedication of people who have given their time and knowledge to bringing the community together and protecting its identity.

As part of the programme, at The Grove Tavern, the actress Vjera Mujović performed the monodrama Over Coffee with Princess Ljubica.
